Wax Melt Safety & Tips
Always make sure you use a burner that can be used with wax melts. Never use a burner smaller than 10cm, these burners are not made for wax melts and will cause the wax to heat up too much.
Always use one 3 hour tealight, never an 8 hour tealight or multiple tealights. When you use a tealight larger than a 3 hour one, the flame is too close to the bowl of the burner and will be too hot. This causes the wax to get too hot and smoke. A small amount of white vapour coming from the melt is normal when using a 3 hour tealight. A larger tealight will burn the fragrance off a lot quicker. A 3 hour tealight will maintain a safe temperature and you will get the most out of your product.
Never overfill your burner. Depending on how deep the dish of your burner is, we recommend only using 1 or 2 hearts at a time. Less is more when it comes to wax melts.
Always keep a burner on a flat heat resistant surface. Always keep burner in a well ventilated area. Keep away from children, pets, curtains, blinds and electrics. Never try to move a burner when in use. Burner will become hot.
When it’s time to remove the melt, we recommend placing a tealight under the burner and using a piece of cotton wool to soak up the melted wax. Make sure the dish is clean before putting a new piece of wax on. Never scrape the melt out when it’s dry, this will cause damage to yourself and the burner.
